with the Almencard
Right after your arrival at the Pension Sonnenhof, you will receive the coveted Almencard, which guarantees you many advantages during your stay in the ski and alpine region Gitschberg Val Giovo. With the Almencard you may use cable cars and ski lifts completely free of charge and receive free entry to the water park Acquarena in Bressanone for 2.5 hours a day. A visit to the ‘Alpinpool’ in Maranza costs you only two Euro and you have the opportunity to take part in guided hikes free of charge. Free admission to more than 80 South Tyrolean museums is another advantage of this guest card. As an Almencard holder, you don’t really need to use your car, as there are no additional costs for using busses and trains.
In addition to the classic leisure activities – such as hiking, cycling and Nordic walking – there are many other leisure activities available to you in the ski and alpine region Gitschberg Val Giovo. Close to Maranza, in San Vigilio/Marebbe, you’ll find the zip line “Adrenaline”. The rope runs approximately 100 metres above the ground, and over a length of three kilometres you whizz down into the valley at breathtaking speed. Experience an adrenaline rush during a rafting tour in the Tures & Aurina Valley. The ‘Rafting Club Aktiv’ offers excursions on raging whitewater rivers that take you through deep gorges and roaring rapids. Finally, a variety of historic castles and romantic palaces in the Isarco Valley and the Pusteria Valley attract many visitors during the summer months.
In Campo Tures, in the Aurina Valley, the Rafting Club Aktiv invites you to unforgettable tours on the Aurino, the river that gives the valley its name. Rafting tours are also organized on the rivers Rienza and Isarco.
From easy to difficult, from calm waters to whitewater fun, there is the perfect option for everyone – even special family tours in calm waters are on the programme.
Or how about a Combi Tour where you combine canyoning and rafting in one day, or an Adrenaline Tour starting directly from Rio di Pusteria? In a unique gorge landscape, you may experience the untamed power of the element water. The wild ride takes you 10 km across waves and rapids to Bressanone.
Have you ever tried canyoning? You jump into pools of water or use ropes to descend into roaring waterfalls – the ultimate nature experience for the fearless!
Close to our house you may treat yourself to the ultimate adrenaline rush. On the zip line in San Vigilio/Marebbe you may experience a completely new adventure. On a rope that runs about 100 m above the ground, you will whizz down into the valley through one of the most beautiful landscapes in South Tyrol. The Zip Line Adrenaline is the longest in Europe and the steepest in the world! It takes you over a length of 3 km and an altitude difference of 400 m through the untouched natural landscapes of the Dolomites into the valley. The zip line is open in winter and summer and is guaranteed to offer an unforgettable holiday experience!
